Quick- pickled Jalapeno :)

I have been wondering what to do with the Jalapenos, how I should try to keep them as long as possible without them going to waste.
Both me and my boyfriends likes those store bought pickled jalapeno very much. So I thought that I could try to make them myself. And Can it ;) And it turned out to be a whole lot easier than i thought :)

I didnt make so much. I want to try it before I use All the chillies, you know.
It would be a shame if it tasted like shit :P

Here is a simple recipe to quick pickled jalapenos.

You need:

  • 10 Jalapenos
  • 1 Cup water
  • 1 Cup white vinegar
  • 4 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp salt
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Whole black pepper (optional)

Pour the water and vinegar in a medium sized sauce pan.
Put the garlic, sugar, salt and pepper in the vinegarwater. ¨
Bring it to boil. stir it a little bit until the sugar and salt is gone :)
Now put the sliced jalapeno in the vinegarwater and take the sauce pan of the heat after about 30 seconds. pres the jalapenos in the water a little bit so they get all soaked.

Let it stand for 15 minutes until they get the ugly colour :) 

Put the slices in the clean jars, pour the vinegar over the rings. Let it stay in room temperature until it cools down a bit before you put it in the fridge :) 


Slice the Jalapeno. (remember gloves)


Hot! Delicious! Jalapeno Rings! 

I didnt have any black pepper at home so i settled without it. 

Getting that ugly colour ;)

Pickled Jalapeno

I have not canned this one, it is way to little in it. And I cant wait for 2 months until I can taste it.
This is gone by the end of the week :P
